Choosing The Right Roller Banner For Your Event

8 September 2026

If you’ve ever walked round a trade show or a wedding fair, you’ll have seen them everywhere. Roller banners are one of the most popular things we print here at Bumble Print, and for good reason. They go up in seconds, they pack away into a bag and they put your brand right at eye level.

But when you come to order one, there’s alot of choice. So we’ve put together this quick guide to help you pick the right one.

Start With Where It’s Going

Before you think about design, think about the space. A standard banner that’s 800mm or 850mm wide is perfect for most events, receptions and shop floors. If you’ve got a bigger stand or want a backdrop for photos, a wide roller banner at 1200mm or 1500mm makes a much bigger statement.

Got a banner going in the middle of a room or a walkway? Go double sided, otherwise half the room is looking at the back of it!

Don’t Forget The Counter

Not every business needs a two metre banner. If you’re at a market stall, a till point or a reception desk, a desktop roller banner does the same job at a fraction of the size. We sell loads of these to salons and cafés who want to push an offer at the counter.

Keep The Design Simple

This is where most banners go wrong. People are walking past, so you’ve got a couple of seconds at most. Our top tips:

  • Put your logo and what you do at the top, where people can see it over a crowd.
  • Keep the wording short. If it takes more than a few seconds to read, it’s too long.
  • Leave the bottom 200mm or so fairly clear, as it’s the part that sits closest to the floor and it’s base.
  • Use big, bold text for your website or phone number.
